WAHA Mission Statement

World Association of Hindu Academicians (WAHA) aims to establish a global network of Hindu academicians and researchers for ensuring correct portrayal of Hindus, Hindu civilization, knowledge traditions and culture in academia, and also to promote Hindu scholarship in all areas of knowledge. WAHA is a duly registered non-profit, non-political, educational organization.  

Hindu Academicians Conference was held from April 8-9, 2023 with the theme: “Bringing Hindu Academicians Together”. The Conference was organized by the World Association of Hindu Academicians (WAHA).


Some of the topics of the conference were as below:
  • Terminologies and Narratives
  • Promoting Correct Usage of Bharatiya Scripts in Schools
  • Promoting Bharatiya Sounds in Digital Media and Official Documents
  • Misportrayal of Hindu Dharma and Traditions in the Academia
  • Bharatiya Knowledge System & Its Relevance in the Present 
  • Hindu Art: Politics and Ideology
  • Western Methods of Interpreting Texts and Their Consequences

1st International Hindu Academicians Conference

The first Conference of WAHA was held from 11-12 October, 2019and was hosted by Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, Bharat. It brought together Hindu academicians and researchers from around the world affiliated to the below mentioned Hindu organisations to deliberate and discuss on the most pressing issues concerning Hindus in global academia.

All participants of the 1st WAHA Conference and other Hindu academicians are requested to register as a WAHA Associate by filling up this form. Please note that there is no requirement for you to be currently affiliated to a particular research or educational organization. You may be a freelancer, and that is fine. Retired academicians are also welcome to register as WAHA Associates.
